What is the difference between a pallet and a skid, is there a different size and weight?

Traditionally pallets are an Australian concept by Chep of a size 1165 x 1165mm, with boards both top and bottom. Skids or Euro pallets are designed without the bottom boards only boards on top. This makes them easier to pick up with many devices. Skids or Euro pallets are available in many sizes and various weight capacities.
