The following rules govern the discussion forums presented on Handling Matters Forum. Please read carefully before participating. Your use of the discussion forums will constitute your agreement to comply with these rules:

  1. If you participate in a discussion, you are responsible for ensuring that any material you post to Handling Matters Forum (text, images, or other multimedia content) does not violate or infringe upon the copyright, patent, trademark or any other personal or proprietary rights of any third party, and is posted with the permission of the owner of such rights.
  2. You agree not to use any obscene or offensive language or to place on Handling Matters Forum any material that is libellous, abusive, or hateful, constitutes  junk mail or unauthorized advertising, invades anyone’s privacy, or encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any local, state, national, or international law or regulation. You agree to use the Handling Matters Forum for discussion forums only for lawful purposes.
  3. All discussion forum messages must contribute new ideas, and must not repeat previously posted material.
  4. All discussion forum topics must be created with proper case, and must not use all caps or special characters to draw attention.
  5. To maintain a high quality content, discussion moderators may remove messages which stray from the topic or do not contribute new ideas.
  6. Discussion material on Handling Matters Forum is for your personal use only. You may not in any way make commercial or other unauthorized use, by publication, re-transmission, distribution, or otherwise, of material obtained through Handling Matters Forum, except as permitted by the Copyright Act or other law.

Anyone who violates these rules may have their access privileges removed without warning.

These rules may be modified from time to time by the Handling Matters Forum Editorial Board.

 

Who is the administrator of the Handling Matters Forum?

Warehousing Equipment Pty Ltd (Warequip) is the founder of the Handling Matters Forum.

Why do I have to register to use the Handling Matters Forum?

Registration helps keep the site secure and limits the amount of spams posts on site.

What information am I required to submit to register?

Registration requires you to enter a user name which will be used when you log in and this is the name that is displayed when you comment.  You are also required to enter an email address which is used to email you a password to activate your account.

Your email address is also added to a mailing list to keep you informed on any changes or important information relating to the Handling Matters Forum.  Your email address may also be used for marketing purposes.

How do I register?

Click on “register”  near the log in section of the forum site, which is on the right hand slider bar.

Enter a user name and you email address click register.

You are immediately sent an email with a temporary password to log in.

Log in with these details, your password maybe changed in your profile.  It is recommended you change your password to something you will remember.

How do I change my password.

Once you have logged in with the supplied password, click on your name or your profile icon, then select edit, change your password section is here.

What if I lost my password?

Once you have attempted to log in and your password is incorrect click on “ Lost your Password”. Enter your username or registered email and click “Get New Password”

Can I change my profile icon?

Unfortunately you are unable to change your profile icon in the forum site.

How can I put profile information about myself?

Click on your user name or profile icon the click on “edit” here you can change your password or enter biographical information about yourself.

Entering biographical information about yourself is a great way to give yourself credibility on your comments / posts.

Can I find out information about another member?

Yes you can view their profile by clicking on their name or profile icon.  Information will only appear in the member

 Who can post / comment on Handling Matters Forum?

Anyone who is a registered user on the Handling Matters Forum site can post comments, ask questions or begin discussions.

Warequip encourage potential customers, customers, and suppliers etc to engage in discussions and post questions on our site.  Warequip have the right to remove any posts / comments which are seen to be offensive or inappropriate.

What is a bulletin board?

A bulletin board is an online discussion site. It’s sometimes also called a ‘board’ or ‘forums’. It may contain several categories, consisting of forums, threads and individual posts.

How is all this structured?

The bulletin board as a whole contains various categories (broad subject areas), which themselves contain forums (more specific subject areas) which contain threads (conversations on a topic) which are made up of individual posts (where a user writes something).

The board home page has a list of categories and forums, with basic statistics for each – including the number of threads and posts, and which member posted the most recent message.

How do I find my way around?

When you click on a forum’s name, you are taken to the list of threads it contains. A thread is a conversation between members or guests. Each thread starts out as a single post and grows as more individual posts are added by different users.

How do I start a new topic?

When you in a category below there is Create New Topic in “mentions the category you are in”

You simply enter a topic title (max 80 characters) and in the box below enter your question / comment below, then submit.

How long after questions are posted should I expect a response?

As we are a business responses will normally be posted during business hours.  In some cases we may need to consult other business or suppliers for advise and in these cases we except to respond within 2 working days.

What are tags?

Tags are a useful way to search for threads with similar subject matter and content. This complements the normal search system, which searches only for certain words or phrases and/or posts by specific users.

To use tags, you add words or phrases to threads to help describe the content. For instance, if the subject matter is ‘photography’ then you can add the tag ‘photography’ to the tag list. But you could also add tags like ‘digital image’, and ‘camera’ (depending, of course, on the nature of the thread).

This will categorize this thread with all other threads that have matching tags, whether or not they have the word ‘photography’ in them.

Who adds the tags?

Tags are initially added to threads by the user who started the thread. Other users may also be able to add and remove tags.

How do I use tags?

Tags are displayed in a box near the bottom of a thread page. Clicking on a tag will allow you to view other threads that have the same tag – and which may be related. Clicking on the word ‘Tags’ in the top of the box will take you to an overview page with a ‘tag cloud.’

This cloud allows you to see which tags are the most popular – the larger the word, the more times it has been used on threads within the board. There is also another tag cloud on the advanced search page that shows you the tags that have been searched for (or clicked on) the most.

How do I search for something?

To quickly find a thread or post of interest anywhere on the bulletin board, click on the ‘Search’ link in the navigation bar at the top of most forum pages. Then, type in the keyword or phrase you wish to search for.

How can I see the recent posts?

Recent posts / topics are displayed in the slider bar on the right hand side of the forum, clicking on these will take you directly to the post.

Testimonials are always appreciated, for security purposes these need to be posted by Warequip. Testimonials can be emailed to sales@warequip.com.au and they will be posted in the testimonial section.
